Do you expect blessings from God?
I don’t mean “expect” in a slimy salesman sort of a way.
I don’t mean “expect” because you have a sense of entitlement.
I mean do you expect blessings because you’re in relationship with the God of the universe…
Just being in His presence and beholding Him changes us.
Let me put it a different way.
Do you have any really well connected friends? Or do you have any friends who inspire you every time you have a conversation with them?
I have friends like that. Some of them just seem to know everyone. If there’s anything I need, it seems they know someone who has just the right connection to help me.
Others are just so knowledgeable. They always seem to be able to point me in the right direction for the resource that I need.
God is all of that and a gillion times more. He is that well connected friend. He’s is the resident know-it-all. He is the friend whose generosity has no limit. His understanding is beyond comprehension.
The result of a friendship and relationship with Him is blessings. Sometimes those blessings are financial. Sometimes they are material and sometimes they are the things that money can’t buy like peace and contentment. Sometimes they are joy and compassion. Sometimes His blessings come in the form of empathy. Whatever form they take, you can always expect blessings.
As you’re gearing up for 2017 to be your Year of Yes, I want to challenge you to think about how you approach God. Do you approach Him in the same way you’d approach someone who is stingy or do you approach Him with the expectation that He will be generous? Do you expect blessings?
Do you want to make 2017 your Year of Yes? Do you want this year to be different from all the other years before it? Well, if you want something different, you have to do something differently. What are you willing to do differently to have a different year?
