As people are gearing up for their new year’s resolutions, many are being told that this is the year to say no.
No to over reaching and over committing.
No to spreading yourself too thin.
No to doing a mediocre job in an area that’s not truly your specialty.
Then someone like Shonda Rhimes comes along and starts advocating a Year of Yes, and I’m inspired by the idea and wonder what my Year of Yes could look like.
Then, I start wondering what it would be like if you had a Year of Yes.
So which one is it? Should we be saying yes or should we start saying no?
Yes or No?
As I step into 2017, I want to experience a year where I start saying yes to opportunities that I was previously fearful of. I don’t want to be led by my fears. I don’t want to be led by my failures. I don’t want to be led by the past. I don’t want to be led by my own preconceived notions of what I can do or who I can become.
2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
For these reasons, I will be saying yes.
Your Year of Yes
As I’m campaigning for you to have a Year of Yes, I want you to say yes to stepping into the areas of your life where you want to learn and grow. Say yes to opportunities you may be fearful of. Say yes to being in the center of God’s will for your life.
When you say yes, you could be stepping into the place where God has His biggest blessings for you.
I would love for you to join me on this journey. I would love for 2017 to be your Year of Yes!
